Spa Day!

Adventures are few and far between
Wow, guys! Adventures have been few and far between lately! I mean we are just trapped in winter and it has resulted in a lot of frustration and boredom. I have been getting out when I can. Last weekend we managed to get in a few miles and then Wednesday I had off and even though the roads were slippery we went on a quick jaunt. Today we were able to get in some "excitement". Unfortunately for us, we need to have our roof replaced. But the dogs were thrilled when the contractor came to look at the roof to give us an estimate and he was a dog lover which meant lots of scratches by a stranger - what could be better? Then we took our longest run in a while. That meant a new route with two roads that Booker hadn't ever run and Sisko hadn't run in a long time. So there were new people who were out shoveling their driveways, unfamiliar sights and the sounds of new dogs barking. So not only did they get some physical exercise, but mental ex...
Chewing out the energy

This is the winter that won't die
This meme pretty much sums up winter! We got it done this morning. It wasn't fun or pretty - at least for me, but the dogs were happy to get some time outside and then to come in to some nice food and a warm nap covered with a blanket. The blankets didn't last long - I know some dogs love being covered up, but my 2 act like I suffocating them !
Nothing will break our stride
I was sore this morning. Maybe because I've been doing so many miles on the treadmill or maybe because I ran weird running in the snow yesterday. Maybe both. The dogs did not have that problem. I'm a member of a group on Facebook of runners and one person said that her dog runs and HIDES when she takes out her running sneakers. Some dogs just aren't meant to be runners. Booker and Sisko started jumping up and down and running around in circles when they saw me put on my running clothes - and yes, they know the difference from my work clothes, my everyday clothes and my running clothes. Don't ask me how. We did a fast and fund 4 miles. It doesn't make running easier when you have cute butts to run behind!
