A camping weekend

We decided to go camping at a place we'd never been to this weekend.

The dogs are smart enough that when they see the suitcases come out, they get excited and nervous.

We packed up a lot of things last night.  Booker jumped in the Passport at least 3-4 times and we had to make him get out.  He reluctantly did, apparently afraid we were planning to leave without him.

This morning I got up at what is the crack of dawn for me.  I took the dogs out and they were excited as this was different routine.  After they did their business they prepared to go back in the house but I had different plans.

We did a quick 3 miles in the col morning air, but it was warming up quickly by the time we finished.

We then packed up the rest of things and headed out.  They were appropriately tired from the run and settled right down despite the change in routine.

It was a long trip, but as always they traveled well.

We got to the campsite and the staff enthusiastically greeted them.

We got the camper all set up.  There was a large stream behind our site which the dogs were happy to see.

It was sill early, so we headed to the trailhead to hike the east and west rims.

It was a wonderful hike but had TONS of stairs to climb as we made our way up the gorge to walk around the rim.  A couple of times Sisko stopped and looked at me like "Really?" And I understood where he was coming from.

We made it back and they got a well deserved plate of food as we made our dinner.

Now we are all crashed out in front of a campfire.
