Healthy treats

I was doing my own meal prep and made some healthy treats for the boys.

A quick look on Amazon and you can find a whole array of dehydrated treats.  Liver seems to be popular.  You can also find chicken, ducks and even sweet potato.  The really good ones don't have or need any extra preservatives.  So they are healthy and nutritious.  They make great training treats because they are usually small and dogs love them.

They are also typically expensive.

Now mind you, these treats are lightweight, but still, they rind in anywhere from $39 - $65 per pound.

I try not to let money be the ultimate determining factor but YIKES!

So today, I decided to give it a shot myself.

I bought a tub of perdue gizzards at Walmart (found in the same place as the fresh chicken).  It cost $1.36.

I cut the gizzards into small bite sized potions, and laid them out on racks.  I set my oven to the air fryer setting at 175 degrees F and popped them into the oven

2.5 hours later, I was left with some healthy dehydrated treats that I put right back int he cleaned out container and set in the refrigerator.

Needless to say, they were dog approved!  Check it out!
