Sisko's still got it!

The last couple weeks have been tough emotionally. I think if it weren't for the dogs I'd have completely lost it.

They have been so good. We've spent a lot of time just hanging out outside. This weekend I had to mow the lawn. This sounds ridiculous, but I've never used the lawn mower! But since Marc can't right now, I had to learn. Both dogs followed me around the yard while I was mowing. Apparently they felt they had to supervise my work!!

We have been having nightly play sessions and I've been getting some runs in with Booker.

The last couple of times I took Sisko on a run, he hasn't really acted like he was enjoying it. It wasn't overly warm when we went, so I didn't think that was the issue. He is almost 9, so I thought it might be time to retire running for him.

But this morning, I wanted to take them over to our favorite paved trail. Marc went with us to walk and he's not allowed to walk the dogs for a few weeks. I decided I would try running slowly and see how Sisko reacted, and I was prepared to walk.

Much to my surprise he rocked it. He ran right along pulling out front with Booker.

We stopped for a couple water breaks, but ended with 6.5 miles - and he was going strong at the end.
